This year's tournament is set for Monday, May 1.
Registration and lunch begin at 11 a.m. Tee-off time is noon. Cocktails begin at 4:30 p.m. and a ribeye steak dinner is set for 5 p.m.
Since 1998, the society has held an annual golf tournament. This event is the society’s largest annual fundraiser. Both men and women play in the tournament. Mixed teams are common.
Participants enjoy a lunch barbecued on site and a first-class dinner with an open bar following the tournament. The dinner is open to other than the golfers and many spouses attend. Those who do not play in the tournament may attend the dinner for a fee.
The tournament is a four-person scramble with the team score placing participants into one of three levels of play. Prizes are awarded to the best scores in each of the three levels. The golfers also enjoy several closest-to-the-pin contests and a long drive competition. Golfers are invited to participate in a “skins” contest and a 50/50 raffle drawing. Mulligans are available for purchase as well. Refreshments are available in several places on the course.
During the dinner following the tournament, winning teams receive cash prizes. An oral auction of items ranging from Cardinal baseball game tickets to stays at luxury resorts wraps up the day.
