Franz Schwarzer–Missouri's Zither King - Over 10,000 Schwarzer instruments, with the majority being zithers, were made in Washington, Mo., by Austrian immigrant Franz Schwarzer, beginning in l866. Schwarzer’s zithers competed favorably with those of European makers and were sold all over the world.

The Missouri History Society and Museum - Organization to preserve St. Louis and Missouri history through exhibitions, programs, research, publications, archives and permanent collections.

The State Historical Society of Missouri - A private membership and state-funded organization specializing in the preservation and study of Missouri's cultural heritage. It is the official historical society of the state of Missouri. 

The Deutschheim Verein - The Hermann Deutschheim Verein supports Deutschheim State Historic Site, which is dedicated to the preservation of the culture and heritage of the Germans who migrated to Missouri in the 19th century.

Deutschheim State Historic Site - Visit a significant part of German-American history and early Missouri settlement at Deutschheim State Historic Site. Stroll through the restored 1840s and 1850s buildings and explore how German-Americans settled the Hermann area and developed the basis for a Missouri wine industry. Grapevines planted more than 100 years ago are still on the property as are a number of historic artifacts. Visitors also can tour the Strehly house, once used for a printing business that produced the first German newspaper west of the Mississippi in 1843.
